On 27 November 2025, the National Bank of Ukraine will hold its traditional online workshop Monetary Policy in Emerging Markets: Evolution of Inflation Targeting. The event will bring together leading economists from around the world.
This year, the NBU celebrates the tenth anniversary of inflation targeting in Ukraine. The workshop will include an exchange of experience in applying this monetary regime, a presentation of new research, and a discussion of the prospects for monetary policy in a world characterized by a high level of uncertainty.
The keynote speaker at the workshop will be Erik Thedéen, Governor of Sveriges Riksbank. Sweden was one of the first countries in the world to introduce inflation targeting. Erik Thedéen will present the main lessons and challenges faced by the central bank.
Workshop participants will also have the opportunity to listen to speeches by representatives of the International Monetary Fund, the European Central Bank, the Bank for International Settlements, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the central banks of Ukraine, England, Armenia, and Poland, and universities of York and Chile. In addition, Federico Sturzenegger, Minister of Deregulation and State Transformation of Argentina, former central bank governor, will be an honorary speaker.
